Durham United - In More Ways Than One.

Updated: Sep 22, 2022

The 2022-23 season ushers in a new era for football at Durham University.

DUAFC have partnered with Durham United FC in a new venture into non-league football - a first for Durham University. The boys are now pulling on the maroon and orange strip as we battle it out in Wearside League, Division One, with the unambiguous aim of getting promoted in our inaugural season. This partnership provides a fresh challenge for the boys and gives them the chance to play an unprecedented number of competitive fixtures in a season. It's fair to say it has provided a fresh breath of positivity within the group and the recent results have started to gather momentum as the boys continue their preparations during preseason.

With Adam Furness becoming the newly appointed full-time Head of Football at Durham, the club has been given a fresh lease of life and a renewed injection of impetus. An ambitious project is in its infancy to reshape football at Durham, bringing the men's and women's football and futsal clubs together under one umbrella entity within Team Durham, Durham University Athletic Football Club. The merger of the respective clubs will create large opportunities for synergies to be gained between the execs and a pooling of resources which will hopefully give all teams an edge on the field. The creation of this new identity within Team Durham is a massively exciting prospect for all those involved!
